Dr. Ethan Mabvuto Zulu
Dr. Ethan M. Zulu, MD, MSc, is a physician with over 12 years of clinical and research experience within the Zambian healthcare system. He most recently served as Senior Scientific Officer at Right to Care International, where he led a team of researchers investigating health outcomes among HIV-exposed but uninfected infants. His work focused on generating evidence to inform policy and strengthen health systems for vulnerable populations.
Dr. Zulu has also contributed his expertise in public health governance as a board member of Flying Mission Zambia, supporting the organization’s medical mission initiatives. Earlier in his career, he volunteered with Mobile Clinics, an initiative of the Ministry of Health, delivering essential healthcare services to underserved communities with limited or no access to care.
Beyond his formal roles, Dr. Zulu has dedicated significant time to community service, working with non-governmental organizations that support orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as incarcerated youth. His contributions have included providing health education to children and adults, facilitating reading groups at under-resourced community schools, and offering free medical care to children and adolescents—many living with HIV.
Through both his professional work and community engagement, Dr. Zulu has cultivated a strong commitment to community development centered on improving health outcomes, expanding access to quality education, and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals regardless of background. He is passionate about partnering with communities to develop locally driven visions for well-being and equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to realize those goals.
Dr. Zulu holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Zambia and a Master of Science in Public Health for Development from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
